On Thursday, August 6, 2026, the IEEE AIUB Student Branch successfully organized a seminar titled “Academic Research: Ways to Leverage Overall Impact.” The seminar aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the fundamentals of academic research, effective research planning, research problem identification, and strategies for conducting impactful research that addresses real world challenges.

The program commenced with an inaugural speech by Prof. Dr. A B M Siddique Hossain, Dean, FE, AIUB. He praised the IEEE AIUB Student Branch for organizing the session and emphasized the impact of research and innovation in advancing academic excellence. He then invited the distinguished speaker of the session, Prof. Dr. Nowshad Amin, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Islamic University of Madinah, Research Professor & Deputy Director, Dr. Anwarul Abedin Institute of Innovation, American International University- Bangladesh (AIUB). The speaker began by introducing his academic and research journey while sharing an overview of his current affiliations. Then he delved into his research projects on renewable energy and solar photovoltaic technology. Afterwards, he outlined systematic research planning, supervisor collaboration, and problem selection strategies. He concluded by urging the audience to prioritize conducting impactful research that addresses genuine problems, particularly on environmental issues within our surrounding.

The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session where the speaker addressed various queries from enthusiastic participants, creating an engaging and informative discussion environment.

Following the Q&A session, Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam, Associate Professor and Member, Research & Publication Steering Committee, FE, AIUB, delivered the closing remarks by emphasizing the importance of cultivating a strong research culture among students. Afterwards, Dr. Gour Chand Mazumder, Assistant Professor, FE and Counselor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch, AIUB, and Dr. Imam presented a token of appreciation to the speaker in recognition of his valuable contribution.

The event started at 2:30 PM (GMT +6) and concluded at 4:30 PM (GMT +6). A total of 50+ participants attended the seminar.
