On Sunday, May 3, 2026, the Department of Marketing and the Department of International Business, Faculty of Business Administration, American International University-Bangladesh, jointly organized a Poster Competition titled “Practicing International Business.” The event brought together students from all sections of the International Business course in a unified academic competition designed to enhance their practical understanding of global business environments.
Working in groups, students represented different countries. They prepared creative posters showcasing their assigned nation's economic profile, international trade performance, national competitive advantages based on Michael Porter's Diamond Model, investment opportunities, and unique cultural dimensions. The competition provided an interactive platform for students to integrate theoretical concepts with real-world international business practices while developing their analytical, presentation, teamwork, and communication skills.
Following the preliminary selection process, the best posters from each section advanced to the final exhibition round, where participants presented and defended their work before the judges and audience. The competition concluded with a certificate-giving ceremony recognizing the outstanding performances of the participating teams.
The objective of organizing this competition was aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, as it encouraged experiential learning, critical thinking, creativity, collaborative problem-solving, and the practical application of international business knowledge. Such initiatives reflect AIUB's commitment to fostering academic excellence and preparing students to become globally competent business professionals through innovative and practice-oriented learning experiences.
The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-in-Charge, FBA. The event was coordinated and overall supervised by Dr. Partha Prasad Chowdhury, Professor and Department Head, Department of Marketing.
